Line Technician

Job Purpose:

  • Line technician ensures that performance and manufactured products meet or exceed efficiency and company quality standards

  • Ensures that production facilities and processes conform to GMP Standards

  • Ensures all workers are fully utilized in their assigned workstations

Responsibilities include:

  • Holds a line operator position on a work center

  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the assigned equipment/work center and achieving production completion dates

  • Responsible for managing own Work Order set up/completions by following daily Production Schedule based on equipment capacity/availability and priorities. Production reporting accuracy is a must

  • Reviews printed Work Orders for errors - BOM, Lot code, assembly instructions, filling instructions and IOS (Item Operating Standard). Communicate errors to QA and Engineering Departments to ensure such information gets verified/corrected prior production

  • Ensures that all requested components and bulks are received correctly. Must verify parts against BOM

  • Able to assign tasks/work duties based on personnel abilities and capabilities. Constant evaluation of line personnel.

  • Works closely with Mechanics, QA and Engineering to track live production and make sure IOS Standard for Crew and Production Rate is reached every hour in order to meet customer’s deadlines

  • Leads efforts to troubleshoot immediately after an issue is identified.

  • Understands and follows company’s guidelines (SOP’s) when: Reviewing production documentation, setting up production lines, during and postproduction.

  • Utilizes Enterprise One software and RFSmart to perform production reporting

  • Knowledge of equipment set up and machine changeovers (trainable)

  • Manages bulk personnel, material handlers and work together with mechanics to achieve quick change overs and contribute to production efficiency improvements13. Identifies preventive equipment maintenance that could potentially interfere with production

  • Attends meetings with Production Management and Quality regarding line performance, customer’s demand, upcoming programs and priority adjustments

  • Assists Engineering Management with continuous improvement/Lean Manufacturing Technique practices, downtime tracking/reduction, equipment availability management, department process flow, product/material flow, etc.


  • Excellent Communication Skills (able to read, understand and convey instructions in an efficient manner)
