Desktop Support Engineer

Job Description: 

This position is responsible for handling end-user desktop support requests including issues relating to their computer needs and mobile devices. Must have good judgement and expertise so skills such as critical thinking, team work, and sense of urgency will be a required part of the position. 


Responsibilities Include:

  • Daily End-user support for Microsoft Windows 10 and MacOS (El Capitan and Sierra)

  • Installation and Support of engineering software (Solidworks, AutoCAD etc.)

  • Configure and troubleshoot mobile data collection devices (handheld scanners and printers)

  • Manage, provision and maintain iPads

  • Install and troubleshoot MS Office 2016

  • Support end-user mobile devices (iOS and Android) including setting up E-mail Accounts and configuring business applications.

  • Diagnose and resolve desktops and laptops moderate hardware issues

  • Install VPN client and train end-users as needed

  • Provide technical support to remote personnel

  • Maintain the accuracy of IT inventory

  • Manage desktop support ticket queue and respond to tickets in a timely manner

Qualifications:

  • 2 or 4-year degree in computer science or related field

  • 3-5+ years of previous experience in a Desktop Support Engineer role supporting 100+ users

  • Strong working knowledge of Windows 10 and MacOS

  • Hands on experience with iOS devices

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite

  • Solid understanding of networking (routers, switches, firewall etc.)

  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, DNS and Windows file permissions

  • Experience with VPN technologies

  • Experience with VoIP technologies

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service with a sense of urgency

  • Self-Motivated and proactive individual

  • Able to work after hours when needed

  • A team player who goes above and beyond base job responsibilities

  • Good organizational skills

  • Excellent professional and personal presentation

  • CompTIA A+ , Network+, MCSA or other related certifications

  • Spanish speaking is a plus
